Green IT Tips
Tips one through ten were provided by the NYS Forum Green IT Conference held on April 10, 2008 in Albany, New York.
Visitors: It is suggested that with the exception of items #4 and #8, that these tips be added to the "Power Consumption" category of the Green IT Campus Model. It also is suggested that item #4 be added to the "Recycling" category. (Item #8 already is included in the Green IT Campus Model.) Do you agree with these suggestions? Please explain.

4. Recycle--make it a part of your proccurements for new equipment
5. Minimize the use of external power adaptors
6. Baseline your IT energy consumption and continue to monitor it on a regular basis

I'm curious about 10. Turn the thermostat in your data center up. I assume that means in the summer.. decrease air conditioning? What about in the winter.. can you also decrese the thermostat? I'm sure there is some optimal temp range for operation.
